- a review
As most of you know, the main purpose of this blog is to enable our readers to enact social change in their daily lives. A huge part of how we strive to accomplish this goal is by promoting products that are socially and environmentally conscious.
If you haven’t checkout out our Pinterest page yet, you need to. It’s stocked full of great products from great companies. There is so much more on our Pinterest than what is on the blog itself. As I research companies and organizations, I am constantly pinning all the products that I like. Prevously, I would wind up pinning over a hundred pins at one time.
This was probably not the best service I could give my Pinterest followers. So I sought out a way I could set pins to be posted at another time.
I looked through many different services, but I landed on ViralTag, here’s why:
It integrates multiple social media platforms. Even though pinning products on Pinterest was the main reason I started looking into a social media scheduling platform, I knew that I would also want to be scheduling posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. With ViralTag, I can do that all from one place.
The platform was easy to use. Once you spend some time navigating the various aspects of the platform, it becomes relatively easy to use.
They have a ViralTag plugin for Chrome. This plugin makes it really easy to pin anything just like I would with the Pinterest “Pin it” button. I was initially worried I’d have to add a lot of extra sets using ViralTag, but this extension makes it almost as fast as the “pin it” button. The only extra step is choosing the date and time you want it to post.
The company is great at customer relations. Throughout my trial I received emails from them, most of them I ignored. But when I actually read one of them, I saw how willing they were to work with me. They want users and they will accommodate you if they can. It may not be altruistic, but it still adds up to a good customer service experience.
Tips for Using ViralTag:
If you’re a blogger, you can talk to ViralTag about reviewing their product in exchange for free time using the service. Don’t pass this up; it’s a great deal! It will give you only limited access, if you want to integrate more than three social media platforms, add multiple users, etc. you’ll need to purchase a full plan.
Plus, they will also give you an affiliate link. If you drive sales, you get a 20% commission.
Is you’re using the trial, try not to go crazy scheduling things far in advance until you’re sure you want to use the service. I scheduled probably 50 pins up to a month in advance while I was using a 7-day trial. I am happy that this wound up being the platform I wanted to work with in the end, otherwise that time would have been wasted, my pins likely wouldn'y have been posted.
Communicate! They are willing to work with you and help you out; you just have to talk to them.
So while I am happy to be able to receive some free time on ViralTag by writing this review, it’s actually not why I decided on the service. I was ready to pay the $24 monthly fee because I felt it was the only platform that served my needs. I am so grateful that I do not have to pay this now, as it would have been a stretch for our fragile blog budget. But in the end, through all my research, I found this platform to be comfortable and intuitive.
Thank you ViralTag for empowering us small-time bloggers!
